Night Time Road Work: 200 Street Between 65 Avenue and 70 Avenue

Posted 57 days ago

Minor traffic delays between 8:00pm - 6:00am, Monday to Friday may be expected as follows:

From: Monday, January 23
To: Friday, April 7

Hours of work are from 8:00pm – 6:00am, Monday to Friday. Two way traffic will be maintained, with southbound traffic diverted into northbound lanes as necessary. Standard traffic patterns will be reinstated by 6:00am each morning.

Shifting road closures will be in place during the project, blocking access to/from Willoughby Way, 68 Avenue, and 70 Avenue along the west side of 200 Street. Other specific road closure will be posted as the dates become known. Letters with information on closure dates and detour routes will be delivered to local residents, and detour routes will be marked.

Update, March 14:

As construction has moved north, the sound barrier fencing will be shifting north of 68 Avenue, with a sidewalk closure on the west side of 200 Street between 68 Avenue and 72 Avenue expected until approximately April 28. See the map below for sidewalk detour routes:

Update, March 1:

Construction work along 200 Street has moved northwards, and the 66 Avenue access closure will be replaced by an access closure at 68 Avenue. Closure of 68 Avenue from the west side of 200 Street is expected to be in place from Thursday, March 2 until approximately Friday, March 24. A map with detour route is below:

This night-time traffic change is necessary to allow the replacement of a trunk storm sewer along 200 Street.

Residents living along this corridor have been notified of potential noise during overnight working hours. Crews will work to reduce the volume and time of noise as much as possible, however given the nature of the construction, a certain amount of noise is expected.

Any concerns can be sent to the email address below. We appreciate your understanding and patience as this vital piece of storm sewer infrastructure is replaced.
