Set Out and Collection Times

Garbage and recycling should be curbside by 7:30am or it may not be collected. It is not recommended to have garbage curbside before 8:00pm the night before.

Note: For some weeks with a holiday(always check your collection calendar), recycling, yard trimmings, and garbage collection for all zones will be one day later than normal (i.e. regular collection is on Monday, pick up will occur on Tuesday; regular collection day is Tuesday, pick up will occur on Wednesday).

Appropriate Sizes and Weekly Limits

The weekly garbage limit is 2 containers which can be a combination of 80L maximum cans or bags. Garbage cans must have a lid, two handles for lifting, and be leak proof and clean to avoid attracting pests.

Green Can Program (food scraps and yard trimmings) is our newest initiative to reduce household waste.  Residents who receive municipal garbage collection (strata dwellers:  verify service eligibility with your property management company) can put food scraps, soiled paper, and yard trimmings into a decaled 80L reusable, rigid can or kraft paper bags. Click here for more about the Township's Green Can Collection Program.
