The Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) is a Council-appointed body established to provide advice on policies and strategies that relate to the economic development of the municipality. The committee is responsible for the creation and implementation of the Township's Economic Development Strategy.
The EDAC was established on January 12, 1987 by a municipal bylaw. The bylaw has been amended twice to reflect the changing and growing nature of the local economy. The original bylaw was revised in 2003 and then revised again in 2008.

The
Langley 10 by 10 Challenge Committee has been very successful. Since the first meeting of the Langley 10 by 10 Challenge Committee on April 16, 2007, the three community organizations on our committee have placed over one hundred people with disabilities into a successful employment situation. Thus, the committee has already exceeded the goal that was placed before us by the province when it challenged us to find employment for 100 persons with disabilities. Despite already having exceeded our goal, the committee does not plan to stop working on this initiative at this time.
