Outdoor Burning Regulations |

General Information
Outdoor burning in Langley is still currently permitted within certain limitations. Outdoor burning is permitted in the month of April and from September 15 to the end of October under the following conditions:
- no outdoor burning is permitted any time of year in the urban areas of Aldergrove, Murrayville, Fort Langley, Brookswood, Walnut Grove, and Willoughby; if you are unsure if you are in a no burning area, contact us at 532.7500
- burning permits must be kept available at the burning site
- no person shall burn materials which are not indigenous (natural growth and vegetation) to the site where the burning occurs. What this means is:
You can burn:
- Leaves, branches, and other vegetation that grows on the property
You can't burn:
- any materials hauled onto the property from another site
- dimensional lumber (2 x 4's, etc.) or waste lumber ends
- construction materials of any kind
- old buildings, sheds, barns
- furniture or other finished goods
- plastics, tires, insulation
- garbage of any kind
Burning Permits
Burning permits are required for all outdoor burning in Langley. Burning permits cost $20 and are available during normal business hours at the following locations:
Aldergrove:
Aldergrove Kinsmen Centre, 26770 - 29 Avenue
Murrayville:
Firehall #6, 22170 - 50 Avenue
W.C. Blair Recreation Centre, 22200 Fraser Highway
Walnut Grove:
Walnut Grove Community Centre, 8889 Walnut Grove Drive
Langley Civic Facility:
Customer Service Desk, 20338 - 65 Avenue
Land Clearing
Land clearing permits are required for all land clearing operations that involve open air burning. These permits are available only at Firehall #6, 22170 - 50 Avenue, Langley.
A Fire Department site inspection is required before a permit can be issued. In some instances, the Fire Department may require the use of forced air fans to accelerate burning. A site inspection can be arranged by calling 604.532.7500, Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 4:30pm.
