All building permit inspection requests must be submitted through eInspections. This new system, provides an efficient way to schedule, cancel, and reschedule your building inspection requests. This online service is accessed through your MyTownship account using an access code.
Sign-up or Sign-in to MyTownship
A MyTownship account is required to schedule a building inspection. A 4-6 digit access code is provided by the owner/builder/applicant at the time of submitting the building permit application (located on the building permit application form). This access code is required to link the building permit to your MyTownship account.
If you did not previously request an access code, the owner/builder/applicant can request an access code here. You must request the access code using the same email address that was provided for inspection notices. Only one access code per building permit is issued; therefore, it is up to the builder/owner/applicant to distribute the access code to the trades. Any trades required to request a building inspection will require the access code to link the permit(s) to their own MyTownship account. The access code is only needed at the time the builder and/or trade registers the building permit with their MyTownship account.
Have questions about submitting an inspection request? Review the Building Inspection Request Brochure.
Building Inspection requests must be submitted by 3:30pm on the business day prior to the day of inspection.
The business licence of the contractor/trade doing the work must be provided in the notes field when booking the inspection. If you are a homeowner and have not hired a contractor or subtrade to do the work, please enter homeowner in the notes field.
Effective January 29, 2022, all ESC/BIN and Noise Sign inspections must be requested after the issuance of the building permit and prior to the commencement of any work. Please refer to the conditions listed on your building permit to determine the required inspections for your project.
