Rebates for heat pumps and other energy efficiency upgrades have never been greater! Over $10,000 is available, depending on your household income. See the tables below to learn more.
One of the most significant ways for Township residents to decrease their energy usage and GHG emissions is by completing energy efficiency upgrades on their homes. Below are Township, Fortis BC, BC Hydro, provincial, and federal rebates that will help reduce the cost-burden of these upgrades.
Rebates and incentives are subject to availability and can change without notice. Confirm availability and/or eligibility with the appropriate rebate providers.

CleanBC Better Homes is now offering a Heat Pump Group Purchase Rebate of up to $500 for homeowners switching from an oil, natural gas, or propane heating system to an eligible air source heat pump. The more homes that register and apply as a group using the same Group Code, the higher the rebate for each participant, so share this page with your friends!

This Code expires on November 9, 2022. Note: Each group Code can be used by a maximum of 30 participants and once full or expired, a new Code will be issued. Check back here for a new Code.
Here is how to take advantage of the Group Purchase Rebate:
Participants must register with the complete GPR Code, have their heat pump installed, and submit applications for rebates within 6 months of their final installation invoice date.

Through their CleanBC Better Homes program, the Province of BC has introduced an income qualified rebate program where homeowners may be eligible to receive enhanced rebates that cover 60-95% of home upgrade costs.
Maximum rebate values:
Additional rebates are available for necessary health and safety, ventilation, and electrical panel upgrades. Free energy coaching, virtual energy assessments, and support in multiple languages are also available to help you identify the home upgrades and rebates that are best for your home.

Low- and moderate-income households can apply online for a free energy saving kit from BC Hydro that contains simple, energy-saving products you can install yourself. You can use the kit to seal up the drafts around your home, save on lighting costs, and reduce your home’s water usage.
Kits are customizable and can contain:
If you rent your home, you can apply for a free kit if the BC Hydro account is in your name. See if you qualify.
Income-qualified households, including renters, can receive free advice, installation of energy-saving products, and upgrades as part of BC Hydro and FortisBC’s Energy Conservation Assistance Program. You’ll work with an energy coach who will review your home’s energy use, show you some simple ways to improve its energy efficiency and identify potential upgrades to be installed. Check if your household qualifies, and apply.
