Position types

Auxiliary to full time, you’ve got a variety of options with us.



Auxiliary Employees - A
  • work does not have guaranteed hours
  • scheduled as needed and often given the opportunity to submit availability
  • may hold more than one type of position and can work a variety of shifts at a variety of sites
  • receive additional % on top of wage, in lieu of all benefits 
Regular Part-Time Employees - RPT
  • work a permanent regular schedule of 20 hours or more per week averaged over a year
  • eligible for benefits
Regular Full-Time Employees - RFT
  • work a permanent regular schedule of 35, 37.5 or 40 hours week depending on your position
  • eligible for benefits
Temporary Full-Time Employees - TFT
  • work on a full-time basis of 35, 37.5 or 40 hours per week for a defined and limited period of time
  • receive additional % on top of wage, in lieu of all benefits 

All positions within the Parks & Recreation division are defined by the Township of Langley as positions of trust (Child Safety) and require a Police Information Check.
