Pools

Swimming Lessons

Small group and private swimming lessons are available for all ages.

Private Swimming Lessons are 30 minutes in duration. Semi-private lessons (for two participants) are also available. Both participants must have similar swimming skills and abilities. To register for a semi-private lesson, select your private lesson time to register one participant and the second participant will be added during the registration process.

Registration Information

Online registration for fall swimming lessons opens on Friday, September 10 at 12:00pm.

Lesson dates and times for all pools will be viewable online on Tuesday, September 7 at 9:00am. View lesson dates and times.

 

For Everyone's Safety:

  • Stay home if you are feeling sick.
  • Do not visit if you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, are taking care of someone with COVID-19, or have traveled outside of Canada.
  • Participants must maintain physical distance from one another at all times. 
  • Visit tol.ca/covid19 for additional COVID-19 safety information and mask usage requirements in our facilities.
  • Arrive no more than 5-10 minutes before your scheduled lesson time.
  • All children less than 7 years of age must have a responsible guardian present.
  • Participants must shower prior to using the pool.
  • All lessons require advance online registration.
  • If you haven’t already, be sure to create your MyTownship online account. If you have previously registered online for a recreation program or activity in the Township, please use the same email that we already have on file.
  • Swimming lessons are refundable if a request for withdrawal is received at least 5 days before the start of the program. If less than 5 days notice is given, the registration fee, less a 10% cancellation fee, will be refunded. Registration fees are non-refundable once the program has started. To request a withdrawal, contact customer service by phone, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm, at 604-534-3211 Ext. 9.

 

Public Swimming Sessions (as of September 7)

  • The indoor main pool, leisure pool, steam/sauna, hot tub, and therapy pool are available for use. This includes the use of 1M, 3M, and 5M diving boards, rope swing, and on-deck showers.
  • Waterslide is open during select public swimming reservations.
  • Changerooms and lockers are open for regular use.
  • The indoor 25M pool with diving tank, sauna, and hot tub are available for use. This includes the use of water table, soaker bucket, mushroom, on-deck cubbies, diving board, and on-deck showers.
  • Waves will be available during select public swimming reservations.
  • Changerooms and lockers are open for regular use.
  • The outdoor 25M main pool, social pool, steam, sauna, and hot tub are available for use. This includes the use of 1M, 3M diving boards, rope swing, and on-deck showers.

  • Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience waterpark will be open Friday to Sunday until September 26. Read more information here.

  • Pools are open with reduced capacities and limited hours to allow for required physical distancing measures & cleaning.
  • Aquatic programs such as aquafit are not offered at this time.
  • Advanced online registration is recommended for all public, lap, and parent and tot swim sessions in order to secure your spot.

Waterpark Sessions

Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience at Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre (open Friday to Sunday until September 26)

  • All waterpark sessions are 2.5 hours and require advance online registration (no drop-ins).
  • Change rooms/showers are available during the waterpark session, with an additional 10 minutes after the session. Guests must exit the area within 10 minutes following the session.

Register for waterpark sessions.  All members of your family that will be attending, in or out of the water, must be registered.

Public, lap, water walking, and parent and tot swim session times are viewable online at tol.ca/recregister.

There are two ways to register.

Yes each session will have a maximum capacity, so all guests that attend the sessions, need to be registered.
When you register for a session, there are details listed on your receipt that will help you prepare for your visit, including the check-in process, what you can and cannot bring, and what services public will have available for them during their session.
Admission fees are indicated on the registration page. Family, Student, and pass rates are not available at this time due to COVID-19 operational requirements. Find current admission rates here.
During public swimming sessions, all children less than 7 years of age must be closely supervised (within arm’s reach at all times) by a responsible guardian. Maximum 3 children per person. Children attending lap swim sessions must be 8 years or older. Parent and tot swim sessions are geared towards caregivers with children 5 years old and under.
Yes, changerooms and lockers are open for regular use.
Non-alcoholic beverages may be brought into the pool (no glass containers). Guests may also bring their own collapsible chairs, strollers, personal flotation devices (including PFDs), water wings, infant inflatables, and Hercules chest suits (swim suits with buoyancy features).
Personal water toys including large inflatables, food, alcohol, and glass containers.

 


 

Arenas

  • The arena at the George Preston Recreation Centre is now open for approved sport user group rentals, subject to safety plans having been developed, submitted, and approved by the Township.

Fitness Facilities

Weight Room Sessions

Walnut Grove Community Centre

  • Starting September 7, the weight room is available for limited 2 hour registered sessions.This includes the use of wallet lockers, two universal washrooms, and cardio/weight equipment. Physical distancing is encouraged.

Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre 

  • The weight room is re-opening September 10 for limited 2 hour registered sessions. This includes the use of wallet lockers, washrooms, and cardio/weight equipment. Physical distancing is encouraged.

W.C. Blair Recreation Centre

  • The weight room is re-opening September 10 for limited 2 hour registered sessions. This includes the use of wallet lockers, washrooms, and cardio/weight equipment. Physical distancing is encouraged.

  • Masks are currently mandatory when entering and exiting the weight room. Masks can be removed prior to the start of your workout.
  • The weight room is open to guests 16 years and older with reduced capacities.
  • Fitness classes, personal training, small group training and weight room orientations are not offered at this time.
  • Advance online registration is recommended for all weight room sessions in order to secure your spot.
  • Please be mindful of your time on each piece of equipment if others are waiting.
  • Guests should arrive workout ready.
  • Please bring your own pre-filled non-glass water bottle.
  • Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled session. Guests will be required to check in at the front desk.
  • Guests will have a maximum of 5 minutes at the end of the session to gather their belongings and exit the facility.
