The following are status updates on the amenities and programs currently available at Township recreation facilities. For the most up-to-date information, visit this webpage regularly.

Pools

Swimming Lessons

Small group and private swimming lessons are available for children, ages 3-12. Please note all children less than 7 years of age must be closely supervised (within arms’ reach at all times) by a responsible guardian. Instructors will teach verbally and through demonstrations. There is no hands-on instruction at this time.

Private Swimming Lessons are 30 minutes in duration. Semi-private lessons (for two participants) are also available. Both participants must have similar swimming skills and abilities. To register for a semi-private lesson, select your private lesson time to register one participant and the second participant will be added during the registration process.

Please note parent and tot, youth, and adult group and private swimming lessons are not available at this time.

Online registration for August swimming lessons opens on Monday, July 19 at 12pm. View session registration dates and times that will be available at each pool.

Online registration information for September swimming lessons will be available soon.

 

For Everyone's Safety:

  • Stay home if you are feeling sick.
  • Do not visit if you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, are taking care of someone with COVID-19, or have traveled outside of Canada.
  • Participants must maintain 3 metres of physical distance from one another at all times. 
  • No spectators allowed.
  • Visit tol.ca/covid19 for additional COVID-19 safety information and mask usage requirements in our facilities.
  • Arrive no more than 5-10 minutes before your scheduled lesson time.
  • All children less than 7 years of age must be closely supervised (within arms' reach at all times) by a responsible guardian
  • Children in a non-parent participation swim lesson can be dropped off and picked up at the designated pool entrance by a parent or guardian.
  • Routes have been established throughout the facility to control traffic flow and to maintain physical distancing. Be sure to look for COVID-19 signage.
  • Arrive swim ready. There will be no access to change rooms at the start of the lesson.
  • Participants must shower prior to using the pool.
  • Lockers are not available for use. Bring all belongings with you to the pool deck. Please leave valuables at home.
  • There is limited access to change rooms and showers. Participants will have a maximum of 10 minutes at the end of the lesson to shower/change and exit the facility.
  • All sessions require advance online registration. Please register all members of your family that will be attending.
  • On-site registration, cash, and passes will not be accepted at this time.
  • If you haven’t already, be sure to create your MyTownship online account. If you have previously registered online for a recreation program or activity in the Township, please use the same email that we already have on file.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable.

 

Public Swimming Sessions

  • The indoor main pool, leisure pool, hot tub, and therapy pool are available for use. This includes the use of wallet lockers, 1M, 3M, and 5M diving boards, on-deck washroom and on-deck showers. Spray features will be available March 1, 2021.
  • Waterslide and steam/sauna are NOT open. Lockers, water fountains, facility equipment/toys, and rope swing are NOT available.
  • The indoor 25M pool with diving tank and hot tub are available for use. This includes the use of waves, water table, soaker bucket, mushroom, on-deck cubbies, diving board, on-deck accessible washroom and on-deck showers.
  • Climbing wall and sauna are NOT open. Lockers, water fountains, facility equipment/toys are NOT available.
  • Starting July 1, hours and availability will change due to the re-opening of the Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience waterpark.  Lap swimming will be available. Registration lap swimming session does not include access to the Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience.

  • Pools are open with reduced capacities and limited hours to allow for required physical distancing measures & cleaning.
  • Aquatic programs such as aquafit are not offered at this time.
  • All public, lap, and parent and tot swim sessions require advanced registration (no drop-ins). Access is limited to registered guests only – no spectators will be permitted.
  • The hot tubs are open with established maximum capacities. Please check the capacity before getting in and limit your time in the hot tubs so that others can also enjoy them.
  • Guests will enter and exit the facilities as noted on signs at each facility and directed by staff.
  • Guests are to arrive swim ready. Please bring your own:
    • Towel
    • Goggles/swim cap
    • Filled non-glass water bottle as water fountains are not available
    • Small personal equipment (e.g. kickboard).
  • Please limit belongings as lockers will not be available for use.
  • Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled session.
  • Guests will not have access to the change rooms at the start of their session. Guests should arrive as ready as possible for their event.
  • Change rooms will be unlocked during the last 30 minutes of public swim sessions, and the last 15 minutes of lap, and parent and tot sessions for limited guest access to indoor showers/change stalls. Lifeguards will monitor the number of people in the change room at any given time.
  • Guests will have a maximum of 10 minutes at the end of the session to shower/change and exit the facility.
  • All public, lap, and parent and tot swim sessions require advance online registration. Please register all members of your family that will be attending.
  • Registration for each session is available 72 hours in advance.
  • On-site registration, cash, and passes will not be accepted at this time.

Waterpark Sessions

Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience at Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre (June to September)

  • All waterpark sessions are 2.5 hours and require advance online registration (no drop-ins).
  • The following amenities are available: Pacific Zone (25M pool, leisure pool and hot tub), Breaker Bay wave pool, Canyon Creek river channel, Roller Soakers waterslides, and Big Top water play feature and waterslides. 
  • Please limit belongings as only wallet lockers will be available.
  • Please bring a pre-filled water bottle.
  • Change rooms will not be available at the start of the session. Guests should arrive dressed and ready to swim.
  • Change rooms/showers are available for the final 30 minutes of the 2.5 hour session , with an additional 10 minutes after the session. Guests must exit the area within 10 minutes following the session.
  • The following amenities are closed: large lockers, rope swing, sauna, steam, rope swing, water fountains and water refill stations.

As of July 25, Township of Langley residents will have priority registration for all Sunday waterpark sessions. Residents will have a four-day priority window to register before non-residents.

Non-Township residents can register for any remaining Sunday waterpark spots 72 hours in advance of each Sunday waterpark session.

Public, lap, water walking, and parent and tot swim session times are viewable online at tol.ca/recregister.

There are two ways to register.

  • Online: Visit tol.ca/recregister and select the session you want to attend.
  • Phone: Contact 604-534-3211 between 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday to register for a session. If you are looking to book sessions outside of the call centre hours, you will need to register online at tol.ca/recregister
Yes each session will have a maximum capacity, so all guests that attend the sessions, need to be registered. At this time, no spectators are allowed, so everyone entering the area must be registered and have paid an admission rate.
When you register for a session, there are details listed on your receipt that will help you prepare for your visit, including the check-in process, what you can and cannot bring, and what services public will have available for them during their session.
Admission fees are indicated on the registration page. Family, Student, and pass rates are not available at this time due to COVID-19 operational requirements. Find current admission rates here.
All children less than 7 years of age must be closely supervised (within arm’s reach at all times) by a responsible guardian. Maximum 3 children per person. Children attending lap swim sessions must be 8 years or older. Parent and tot swim sessions are geared towards caregivers with children 5 years old and under.
Lockers will not be available for use. Guests are encouraged to bring minimal personal belongings with them. Guests will not have access to the change rooms at the start of their session. A limited number of change rooms will be available to guests 15 minutes prior to the end of a lap swim session and 30 minutes prior to the end of a public swim session. Guests will have a maximum of 10 minutes immediately after each session to leave the facility so plan your change room visit accordingly. An on-deck washroom will be available for guests. Note: This washroom cannot be used as a change room in compliance with Fraser Health COVID-19 regulations.
Non-alcoholic beverages may be brought into the pool (no glass containers). Guests may also bring their own collapsible chairs, strollers, personal flotation devices (including PFDs), water wings, infant inflatables, and Hercules chest suits (swim suits with buoyancy features).

Arenas

  • The arena at the George Preston Recreation Centre is now open for approved sport user group rentals, subject to safety plans having been developed, submitted, and approved by the Township.
  • The arena at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre is now open for approved sport user group rentals, subject to safety plans having been developed, submitted, and approved by the Township.

 


 

Fitness Facilities

Weight Room Sessions

Walnut Grove Community Centre

  • The weight room is opening July 6 for limited 1 hour registered sessions. This includes the use of wallet lockers, two universal washrooms, and cardio/weight equipment (equipment available has been reduced to ensure adequate physical distancing)
  • Access to change rooms, water fountains, or other areas of the facility is NOT available at this time.
  • View session registration dates and times.

 

  • The weight room is open to guests 16 years and older with reduced capacities and limited hours to allow for required physical distancing measures and cleaning.
  • Fitness classes, personal training, small group training and weight room orientations are not offered at this time.
  • All weight room sessions require advanced registration (no drop-ins). Access is limited to registered guests only.
  • Weight and cardio equipment has been limited to allow for required physical distancing measures. Please be mindful of your time on each piece of equipment if others are waiting.
  • Guests will enter and exit the facilities as noted on the Weight Room Entrance sign at the facility and directed by staff.
  • Guests are to arrive workout ready as access to change rooms will not be available.
  • Please bring your own pre-filled non-glass water bottle as water fountains are not available.
  • Please limit belongings as access to lockers will not be available.
  • Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled session.
  • Guests will have a maximum of 5 minutes at the end of the session to gather their belongings and exit the facility.
  • All weight room sessions require advance online registration. Please register all members of your family that will be attending.
