Recreation Facilities Status

The following are status updates on the amenities and programs currently available at Township recreation facilities.

Pools  |  Arenas  |  Fitness Facilities

The Township of Langley is requiring all visitors to wear masks within its facilities, as maintaining physical distancing may not be possible at all times.

Pools

Walnut Grove Community Centre

The indoor main pool, leisure pool, hot tub, and therapy pool are available for use. This includes the use of wallet lockers, 1M, 3M, and 5M diving boards, on-deck washroom and on-deck showers. Spray features will be available March 1, 2021.

Waterslide and steam/sauna are NOT open. Lockers, water fountains, facility equipment/toys, and rope swing are NOT available.

 

Important Points to Know

  • Walnut Grove Community Centre is open with reduced capacities and limited hours to allow for required physical distancing measures & cleaning.
  • Aquatic programs, such as swimming lessons and aquafit, are not offered at this time.
  • All public, lap, and parent and tot swim sessions require advanced registration (no drop-ins).  Access is limited to registered guests only – no spectators will be permitted.
  • Guests are to arrive swim ready. Please bring your own:
    • Towel
    • Goggles/swim cap
    • Filled non-glass water bottle as water fountains are not available
    • Small personal equipment (e.g. kickboard).
  • Please limit belongings as lockers will not be available for use. 

Entering/Exiting the Facility

  • Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled session.
  • Guests will enter through the northeast pool deck doors following a brief check-in with a staff member.
  • Guests will not have access to the change rooms at the start of their session. Guests should arrive as ready as possible for their event.
  • Change rooms will be unlocked during the last 30 minutes of public swim sessions, and the last 15 minutes of lap, and parent and tot sessions for limited guest access to indoor showers/change stalls. Lifeguards will monitor the number of people in the change room at any given time.
  • Guests will have a maximum of 10 minutes at the end of the session to shower/change and exit the facility.
  • Guests will exit through the northeast pool deck doors.

  • All public, lap, and parent and tot swim sessions require advance online registration. Please register all members of your family that will be attending.
  • Registration for each session is available 72 hours in advance.
  • On-site registration, cash, and passes will not be accepted at this time.
  • If you haven’t already, be sure to set up your MyTownship online account.

 

W.C. Blair Recreation Centre

The indoor 25M pool with diving tank and hot tub are available for use. This includes the use of waves, water table, soaker bucket, mushroom, on-deck cubbies, diving board, on-deck accessible washroom and on-deck showers.

Climbing wall and sauna are NOT open. Lockers, water fountains, facility equipment/toys are NOT available.

Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience at Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre

Pool Closure – March 29 – April 5, 2021. The Pacific Zone pools will be closed for annual maintenance from Monday, March 29 until Monday, April 5. Pools will be reopening Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

  • Triple O’s will be available via online door dash app or by calling Triple O’s and placing your order over the phone. There will be no walk up food trucks or access to the inside Triple O’s kiosk at this time.

  • Change rooms will be unlocked during the last 30 minutes of public swim sessions, and the last 15 minutes of lap, and parent and tot sessions for limited guest access to indoor showers/change stalls. Lifeguards will monitor the number of people in the change room at any given time.
  • Guests will have a maximum of 10 minutes at the end of the session to shower/change and exit the facility.
  • Guests will exit through the main gates of the Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience.

Registration

  • All public, lap, and parent and tot swim sessions require advance online registration. Please register all members of your family that will be attending.
  • Registration for each session is available 72 hours in advance.
  • On-site registration, cash, and passes will not be accepted at this time.
  • If you haven’t already, be sure to set up your MyTownship online account.

What are the session times?
Public, lap, water walking, and parent and tot swim session times are viewable online at tol.ca/recregister.
How can you register for a session?

There are two ways to register.

  • Online: Visit tol.ca/recregister and select the session you want to attend.
  • Phone: Contact 604-534-3211 between 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday to register for a session. If you are looking to book sessions outside of the call centre hours, you will need to register online at tol.ca/recregister
Does everyone in my family need to register separately?
Yes each session will have a maximum capacity, so all guests that attend the sessions, need to be registered. At this time, no spectators are allowed, so everyone entering the area must be registered and have paid an admission rate.
How do I know what to do when I arrive for my session?
When you register for a session, there are details listed on your receipt that will help you prepare for your visit, including the check-in process, what you can and cannot bring, and what services public will have available for them during their session.
What is the cost of admission?
Admission fees are indicated on the registration page. Family, Student, and pass rates are not available at this time due to COVID-19 operational requirements. Find current admission rates here.
Are there any age restrictions?
All children less than 7 years of age must be closely supervised (within arm’s reach at all times) by a responsible person who is at least 16 years of age. Maximum 3 children per person. Children attending lap swim sessions must be 8 years or older. Parent and tot swim sessions are geared towards caregivers with children 5 years old and under.
Will lockers, change rooms, and washrooms be available?
Lockers will not be available for use. Guests are encouraged to bring minimal personal belongings with them. Guests will not have access to the change rooms at the start of their session. A limited number of change rooms will be available to guests 15 minutes prior to the end of a lap swim session and 30 minutes prior to the end of a public swim session. Guests will have a maximum of 10 minutes immediately after each session to leave the facility so plan your change room visit accordingly. An on-deck washroom will be available for guests. Note: This washroom cannot be used as a change room in compliance with Fraser Health COVID-19 regulations.
What am I allowed to bring with me when I come in?
Non-alcoholic beverages may be brought into the pool (no glass containers). Guests may also bring their own collapsible chairs, strollers, personal flotation devices (including PFDs), water wings, infant inflatables, and Hercules chest suits (swim suits with buoyancy features).
What is not permitted?
Personal water toys including large inflatables, food, alcohol, and glass containers.

 

Arenas

George Preston Recreation Centre

  • The arena at the George Preston Recreation Centre is now open for user group rentals, subject to safety plans having been developed, submitted, and approved by the Township.

Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre

  • The arena at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre is now open for user group rentals, subject to safety plans having been developed, submitted, and approved by the Township.

 


 

Fitness Facilities
