New Arena Complex at LEC
Overview
On Tuesday October 10, 2023 Township of Langley Mayor and Council announced the addition of three new ice arenas and two new dry floor arenas to be located at the Langley Events Centre and used for lacrosse and hockey activities. The announcement was made at a community event and greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of community members, local sports association leaders, and youth athletes.
Updates
December 2024
Construction continues to progress very well, and continues to be on schedule for a September 2026 opening. Early in the new year, the site will begin to see the steel arrive, and the walls and roof structures will begin to be erected.
August 2024
The three new ice and two dry floor arenas approved by Township Council are taking shape next to the Langley Events Centre. Crews are busy this summer with excavation work for footings, gravel prep, perimeter foundation wall construction, foundation waterproofing, under slab plumbing, and creating a suspended slab.
December 2023
Construction activities began at the site in December 2023. The artist rendering below expresses the general appearance of the new facility.

On Tuesday October 10, Township of Langley Mayor and Council announced the addition of three new ice arenas and two new dry floor arenas to be located at the Langley Events Centre. The announcement was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of community members, local sports association leaders, and youth athletes who attended the event. Many attended the celebration announcement to view information, drawings, and ask questions about the amazing new facility which will offer stacked arenas among other features. Speeches were given by Township Mayor Eric Woodward, Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Megan Dykeman, MLA for Langley East, and leaders of local sports associations who expressed their gratitude for the new arenas.
