On Site Step 5 (Net Zero) Workshop Series

Register below for the On Site Step 5 (Net Zero) Workshop Series, August 1-3, 2023 in the Township of Langley, and learn all about the design, construction, and permitting of this ground-breaking townhouse project that targets compliance with Step 5 of the BC Energy Step Code, CHBA’s Net Zero Energy Ready Standard, and EL-4 of the Zero Carbon Step Code.

The series includes four different on site workshops focused on different aspects of the design and construction of a townhome, including permitting and inspections, energy efficient and airtight envelopes, and high-performance mechanical systems.

• Workshop 1 – Permitting and Inspecting a Step 5 Project
• Workshop 2 – Achieving an Energy Efficient and Airtight Envelope in a Step 5 Home
• Workshop 3 – Designing and Installing High Performance Mechanical Systems in a Step 5 Home
• Workshop 4 – Living in a High Performance Home

Stakeholders across the building industry including builders, developers, contractors, architects/designers, envelope and energy consultants, municipal officials, and members of the public are invited to attend these interactive lectures and tours.

Location of workshops: 6951 204 Street, Langley, BC (townhouse project site).

This industry education focused project is a partnership between the Township of Langley, Streetside Developments (A Qualico Company), and British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Zero Energy/Emissions Buildings Learning Centre.
