208 Street phase two construction funding approved

Township of Langley Council has approved $23.7 million to construct phase 2 of the 208 Street and Willowbrook Connector widening project focusing on 208 Street from 72 Avenue to 76 Avenue.

“Construction to fix 208th is well underway. With work to finish phase one from 64 Avenue to 72 Avenue proceeding and on schedule, Council has confirmed funding for phase two, which includes 208 Street from 72 Avenue to 76 Avenue. Long overdue, we are getting it done.” – Mayor Eric Woodward

The first phase of widening 208 Street from 64 Avenue to 72 Avenue commenced in September 2023, and this second phase of widening is from 72 Avenue to 76 Avenue. The design for the second phase is 95% complete. Refinements to the design are underway and anticipated to be complete in January 2024. Following the completion of the design, a construction tender package is anticipated to be ready shortly thereafter.
