Federal Investment for Concert and Performance Hall at LEC
On Saturday November 8, 2025, the Honourable Gregor Robertson, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Minister responsible for Pacific Economic Development Canada announced a federal investment of up to $25 million through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program towards the new multi-purpose concert and performance hall at the Langley Events Centre and highlighted Budget 2025’s investments in local infrastructure.
The fully accessible hall will feature a net-zero design that exemplifies energy efficiency and climate resilience. It will host concerts, multicultural celebrations, Indigenous gatherings, school graduations, special ceremonies, conferences, and a variety of community events.
“So many members of our community have long advocated for a concert and performance hall. We are incredibly grateful to the Government of Canada for this transformative investment in Langley’s future and helping to bring this vision to fruition. This new space will be more than a venue for world-class arts and cultural events—it will be a community gathering place where our students can proudly cross the stage at high school graduations, and where residents of all ages can come together to celebrate creativity, achievement, and community spirit. Work is already underway to begin a progressive design build process to finalize the facility’s size, scope, components and budget needed for public input and Council’s future consideration.” - Eric Woodward, Mayor of the Township of Langley
