Climate Action Projects
To support the local construction industry in meeting the energy efficiency targets of the BC Energy Step Code the Township of Langley has created the Builder Forum Series
The Strategy provides the Township with a clear vision, guidance, and measurable targets to sustain and increase the community forest.
The Township is continuing to expand its network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for both the community and fleet vehicles, which helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower air pollution.
In 2022, the Township of Langley launched a video project to highlight stories of Township electric vehicle (EV) owners.
The Township of Langley is currently switching approximately 7000 municipally-owned and operated streetlights over to LED (light-emitting diode).
In order to adapt to increased temperatures due to climate change and protect human health at summer events, the Township has purchased an inflatable misting tent and portable water wagon.
The Sustainability Grant Pilot Program was launched in April 2022. The Program encourages residents and eligible organizations to undertake creative, equitable, and community-driven projects.
