Commercial Truck Parking
Locating adequate commercial truck parking has been a challenge in the Township in recent years.
As trucking plays a critical role in local logistics supply chains that are vital to residents and our local economy, Township of Langley Council is taking steps to increase commercial truck parking options in the community.
At the December 16, 2024 Regular Meeting, Council endorsed:
- a one-year pilot program to permit truck parking at all hours on select roads in the Gloucester industrial area
- a Temporary Use Permit: Commercial Truck Parking Facilities guide

One-year pilot program
The Highway and Traffic Bylaw 2010 No. 4758 permits a commercial vehicle, in excess of 5600 kg, to park on a road between the hours of 6am to 9pm. The one-year pilot program permits 24-hour on-street commercial vehicle parking, for up to 72 hours, in designated areas where signage is posted. On-street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and all parking must comply with the Township's Highway and Traffic Bylaw. The pilot program is structured in three phases:
- Phase 1: Gloucester (we are here)
- Traffic signs will indicate “Commercial Vehicle Parking Permitted – Max 72 Hours.”
- Parking usage data will be collected by Township Bylaw Officers manually and using an Automated License Plate Reader.
- Phase 2: Gloucester Expansion (proposed for spring 2025).
- Phase 3: Northwest Langley (proposed for fall 2025).
Report a truck parking infraction if you observe a truck parked in contravention of parking regulations.
