Dog Licences

To increase the security protecting users’ information and Township systems, starting December 10, 2025, a Multi-Factor Authentication process of inputting a verification code will be required when signing into a MyTownship account service. Learn more.

All dogs living in the Township of Langley must have a dog licence, which must be renewed annually. Licensing helps reunite dogs with their owners. The annual licensing period is January 1 to December 31. Renew your dog’s license by the due date annually to qualify for a reduced rate.

A new permanent dog tag will be issued for 2026. The phone number has been updated on the tag. Please change out the old permanent tag with the new permanent tag when you receive the tag in the mail.

all prior year balances must be paid

Visit Customer Service on the 2nd floor of the Civic Facility at 20338 – 65 Avenue, Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Cash, debit, cheque, and credit card (with a 2.2% non-refundable processing fee) payments are accepted.

Hobby kennel	In conjunction with payment of their business licence, a hobby kennel is entitled to receive a maximum 6 licence tags at no additional cost. For hobby kennels, no further licences may be issued or purchased.	N/A

Impound fees	Prior to pick up: All outstanding licence fees, impound fees and related outstanding fees are to be paid to the Township of Langley
Licensed dog (reclaiming fee)		$55 first impound, $100 - second, $200 - third and subsequent
Unlicensed dog (reclaiming fee)		$140 first impound, $175 second impound, $200 third and any subsequent impound
Aggressive dog (reclaiming fee)		$300 first impound, $500 second impound, $1,000 third and any subsequent impound

Destruction fee		$115 for destruction, $215 for pick up and destruction. For large animals hauling costs plus $115 destruction fees to be paid by guardian.

Go to tol.ca/MyTownship and log in to your MyTownship account.
On your Dashboard, select the Dog Licence widget.
Click Link / Access Account → Link Account → Link a Dog Licence Account.
Enter your five-digit account number and access code.
Go to My Accounts, then select the box with your address to view your account.
Add/remove a dog, request a tag, update billing delivery method, or make a payment.
