Transportation accounts for 54% of carbon pollution in the Township of Langley.

Electric vehicles are an important part of reducing pollution and transitioning to healthy and clean transportation options. Read more about our plan to reduce our emissions from transportation and mobility in the Climate Action Strategy.

Where to charge your electric vehicle

Township Level 2 Charging

The Township of Langley has Level 2 charging stations for public use. 

All Township-operated Level 2 charging stations have a user fee of $1.50 per hour for the first two hours of charging, and $3.00 per hour after that. User fees help the Township recover costs and allow for further investment in sustainable transportation infrastructure.

  • Aldergrove Community Centre: 27032 Fraser Highway
  • Civic Facility: 20338 - 65 Avenue
  • Langley Events Centre: 7888 - 200 Street
  • Walnut Grove Community Centre: 8889 Walnut Grove Drive
  • W.C. Blair Recreation Centre: 22200 Fraser Highway
  • Redwoods Golf Course: 22011 88 Avenue

 

Township DC Fast Charging

Public fast charging is available at the Township of Langley Operations Centre located at 4700 224 Street. This Township-owned and operated Fast Charger has a user fee of $16.00 per hour (27 cents per minute) and a 40-minute time limit. Fast Chargers can add more than 100km of driving range per hour of charging.

The Township also hosts two DC Fast Chargers at the Langley Events Centre at 7888 200 Street, part of BC Hydro's Province-wide charging network.

Other locations
There are more than 2,500 Level 2 charging stations, and a growing number of DC Fast Chargers across the province. Find a charging station near you by using the PlugShare map accessible through the PlugShare app or website. 

Charging Station Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use a charging station?
  • Option 1: Tap to charge. With the ChargePoint app installed, you can start a charging session by holding your phone over the reader symbol on the station. Before charging, make sure you have the app and you’re signed into your account. For device compatibility details, visit the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Android).
  • Option 2: Use your ChargePoint card. Tap your activated ChargePoint card on the card reader symbol on the station. To activate your card, visit ChargePoint.com.
  • Option 3: Start charging from the app. In the app, select the station and click the “Start Charge” button.
How do I obtain or activate a ChargePoint Card?
You can sign up for a free ChargePoint card online or via the ChargePoint mobile app.
How much will I pay to charge my vehicle?
Level 2 chargers are $1.50 per hour for the first two hours of charging, and $3.00 per hour after that. The Township-owned DC Fast Charger located at the Langley Operations Centre is $16.00 per hour, with a $2.00 minimum fee. Other charging locations within the Township are independently owned and operated, and may have different user fees. Contact ChargePoint at 1-888-758-4389. If they cannot solve the problem, contact the Township of Langley Engineering Division at 604-532-7300.
