Growing the EV Charging Network
The Township of Langley is continuing to expand its network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for both the community and fleet vehicles, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower air pollution. The Township operates 18 public level 2 charging ports across the municipality and is continuing to grow staff and fleet charging capacity at Township facilities.
2024-2025: EV Charger Expansion Phase 2
The Township of Langley expanded its fleet charging capacity to 72 charging ports across four locations. Additional chargers were added following a comprehensive Fleet Electrification Plan completed in 2022 to align with a corporate target of zero-emission fleet vehicles by 2040.

2021-2022: EV Charger Expansion Phase 1
Operations Centre
A dedicated BC Hydro service was added to the municipal Operations Centre in Murrayville and 13 new EV charging ports were installed, including a public DC fast charger (the first of its kind in the neighbourhood).
The new electrical service was also future-proofed to support further electrification of the Township’s fleet at the Operations Centre.
Civic Facility
Twelve new EV charging ports were also installed at the Civic Facility, along with electrical capacity improvements to allow for future fleet electrification at this location.
This project was made possible through support from the Government of Canada and the Province of BC.
Climate Action Strategy
This project was identified as one of over 140 actions outlined in the Climate Action Strategy.
