EV Outreach Videos
In 2022, the Township of Langley launched a video project to highlight stories of Township electric vehicle (EV) owners. This project was fully-funded through Emotive, a province-wide outreach and awareness campaign that encourages the accelerated adoption of EVs. The Township of Langley’s videos are part of Emotive’s #LiveElectric campaign, which features many videos and written stories highlighting EV drivers from across BC.
In the videos, Township residents Pam and Katie share their journeys to electric vehicle ownership and discuss the ways that EVs support their lifestyles in and around Langley. The videos highlight the convenience of charging at home and in the community, as well as major cost savings associated with EV ownership amid rising gas prices.

Pam's story
When the pandemic hit, Pam and her husband lost their jobs and had to find ways to make ends meet. By relying solely on their recently-purchased electric vehicle for transportation, and parking their large truck, the couple were able to save hundreds of dollars per month. Now back to work, the EV still pays off by drastically slashing the cost of Pam’s commute. Watch Pam’s journey to an electric vehicle to learn more.
Katie’s Story
The price of gas was going up and Katie knew there had to be a better way to get around. At first, Katie had concerns about keeping an electric vehicle charged and ready-to-go, but she quickly found out just how simple charging could be. Watch the video to learn more about why Katie chose an electric vehicle, and why she’ll never go back to a gasoline-powered car.
