Portable water station and misting tent

In order to adapt to increased temperatures due to climate change and protect human health at summer events, the Township has purchased an inflatable misting tent and portable water wagon. This new equipment will mainly be used at events but can also be deployed around the Township in major heat waves.

The water wagon has three water bottle fillers and three water fountains, with one of each at an accessible level, and has a chiller and filter to provide cool and clean water.

The misting tent has high pressure nozzles that turn water into a mist, instantly cooling the surrounding air and providing a cool space for users.

Currently, the water wagon and misting tent are being trialled across the Township at a few summer events. In the future, they may be bookable for large, outdoor community events that are open to the public. Email your questions to sustainability@tol.ca.
