
Voting Information
Due to the Canada Post labour disruption, Voter Notification Cards may not be mailed out to Registered Resident Electors. However, voters do not need a Voter Notification Card to vote. If you are not a registered voter, see information below.
On Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 8:00am to 8:00pm, the Township of Langley will hold the 2025 Council By-election for one (1) councillor.
All electors have any one of two voting opportunities:

General voting day - nine (9) different locations on Saturday, October 25, 2025

Advance voting - five (5) different locations on five (5) different days (see locations and dates here)
Eligible voters can vote at any voting location.
If you are not a registered voter, bring two (2) acceptable forms of identification with you to the voting place.
Individual Resident Voter Notification Cards will be mailed to registered Township of Langley voters. Keep this card and bring it with you when you vote. Please note your voter card is not required for you to vote.

Voter registration
If you are not registered on the 2025 Voters List above, please register now by printing, and completing the voter registration form. Take the completed form with you to the voting location when you vote. If you require assistance with registration, please email elections@tol.ca. The voter registration form is also available for completion at all voting locations in the Township of Langley.
Acceptable identification
If you are not a registered voter, bring two (2) acceptable forms of identification with you to the voting place.
- BC drivers licence
- BC identification card
- BC services card - with or without photo
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Social insurance card
- Canadian citizenship card
- Township of Langley property tax statement
- BC care card
- Utility bill
- Owner's certificate of insurance and vehicle licence issued by ICBC
- Ministry of Social Development and Economic Security request for continued assistance form SDES8
Qualifications to vote in Township of Langley general local elections
Resident electors
Resident electors may vote if they meet all the following requirements:
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election; and
- a Canadian citizen; and
- a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
- a resident of the Township of Langley; and
- not disqualified under the Local Government Act, or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law.
Non-resident property electors
Non-resident property electors may vote if they meet all the following requirements:
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day (Saturday, October 25, 2025); and
- a Canadian citizen; and
- a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
- a registered owner of real property in the Township of Langley for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration and who is an individual and not holding the property in trust for a corporation or another trust: and
- not entitled to register as a resident elector of the Township; and
- not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or be otherwise disqualified by law; and
- must only register in relation to one piece of property; and
- if there is more than one registered owner of the property, only one of those individuals may, with the written consent of the majority of the owners, register as a non-resident property elector. If one of the owners of the property is a limited company, the property does not qualify.
