Former Alder Inn Site Interim Use
The input period is now closed. All interim use ideas submitted will be reviewed by Council and updates will be posted to this web page as they are available.
On July 13, 2020, Council decided to demolish the building known as the Alder Inn, located at the southeast corner of Fraser Highway and 272 Street. The imminent demolition of the building will make way for interim uses such as community gardens and parking in the rear lane areas. Council is seeking suggestions for interim uses, with no defined timeline for the duration.
While there are no immediate plans to redevelop the site, there are policies in the Aldergrove Community Plan that provide guidance on what can be developed, including multi-storey mixed-use, townhouses, parking, and amenity space. No decision has been made on specific future uses, with Council seeking public input on interim uses only at this time.
