Division Overview
As a vibrant part of the Township of Langley, the Recreation, Arts and Culture division creates and promotes opportunities for those in our community to learn, play, and grow. Whether it is learning a new skill, reflecting on our history, enjoying the thrill of sport, or pursuing a healthy lifestyle, the Township offers it all.
Our dedicated staff ensure that quality and excellence are at the forefront of the division’s operations. Each year, unique programs and events are developed for residents and visitors, providing numerous opportunities for arts, culture, sport, and recreation.
The division is responsible for managing museum collections, public art initiatives, and the operation of salishan Place by the River. We also oversee community and recreation centres, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ice rinks, and more.
In collaborating with volunteer-based not-for-profit stakeholders and community partners, our staff facilitate initiatives and activities that benefit the Township.
Additionally, the division plans and executes all special events within the Township, including Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Evening, Langley Walk, Canada Day celebrations, Summer Nights in the Township, and more.
Lastly, the division also manages the Township’s relationship with the Fraser Valley Regional Library.
