Airtightness is an essential measure for achieving the required targets of the new Energy Step Code adopted by many local governments in 2019.

On April 25, 2019 the Township of Langley and City of Surrey will be hosting a builder forum to share information related to airtightness to assist residential builders in meeting Step Code targets.

Join us for breakfast as local builders Larry Clay, of Clay Construction, and Nathan Stone, of Odessa Group, share their success stories with Building Step Code/Performance Homes. James Bourget and James Higgins of RDH Building Sciences will discuss air barriers and how to achieve Step Code level airtightness; and Small Planet Supply will offer a demonstration of their airtightness testing unit and provide more information on local training opportunities.

Township of Langley and City of Surrey staff will also provide brief updates on Step Code implementation to-date.
