Create Memories, Not Garbage

It’s that time of year again! For many, some of the best things about the holiday season are the time-honoured traditions: driving through neighbourhoods with dazzling light displays, spending Christmas morning around the tree, and feasting on the turkey dinner. This year, however, consider doing one thing differently: make an effort to create memories, not garbage, and reduce holiday-related waste.

When it comes to gift-giving, spending quality time with family and friends is the greatest gift of all. Consider giving low-waste presents such as tickets to the theatre or a sporting event, or plan to work on a new skill, hobby, or activity together.

Even the smallest actions such as decking the halls with sustainable décor or wrapping gifts with eco-friendly alternatives make a difference. Reducing waste is only limited by your creativity.
