Child Care Action Plan

The Township’s Child Care Action Plan assesses current needs and trends, and identifies space creation targets for the next ten years, along with actions that the Township of Langley and the broader community can take to meet the targets. It aims to improve access to affordable, quality child care that meets the diverse needs of all Township children and families. The Action Plan will also be shared with the Province, and may inform provincial investments in child care space creation in the community. While child care licensing and funding is a provincial responsibility, local governments can play an important role in planning and supporting the provision of child care and early learning.

The Child Care Action plan was endorsed by Township of Langley Council on December 13, 2021.

Work to prepare the Child Care Action Plan began in October 2019. Langley City and the Township of Langley partnered on the first phase of the project, which focused on community engagement, and used the information to develop separate Action Plans. Funding for this project was provided by the UBCM Community Child Care Planning Program.
