Like most other communities in Metro Vancouver and BC, the Township of Langley is aging. This trend brings with it the need to adapt our physical environments, our approach to housing, transportation and recreation, and the services and supports that the Township provides to its residents. The Township of Langley is formally recognized as an age-friendly community by the Age-Friendly BC recognition program .

Age-Friendly Strategy

An age-friendly community is a place where people can enjoy all stages of life, and live with dignity, respect, and independence. Approved by Council in 2014, the Age-Friendly Strategy helps the Township meet the needs of its older residents, while providing a physical and social environment that works for residents of all ages.

Seniors Advisory Committee

The Seniors Advisory Committee was established by Council to represent seniors’ perspectives on various municipal and other key issues. The committee is also designated as the Age-Friendly Advisory Steering Committee as per the requirements of the Age-Friendly BC recognition program. The committee meets the third Wednesday of every month, except for July and August.
