Frequently asked questions
What does a “play-based” preschool philosophy mean? |
Pretend Play
Children experiment with sharing and problem solving, acting out imaginary experiences and trying to make sense of their world. Art Scribbling, painting, playing with clay and more help children learn how their mind and hands work together. These art experiences increase control of hand muscles which are a must for pre-writing. Learning about shapes, forms and textures are all pre-math and science skills. Books Little ones are encouraged and inspired to develop a lifelong love of reading through discovering and exploring the magic of books. Music and Movement Providing children with wonderful physical outlets, soothing music or songs can release tension, while singing can help little ones to develop language and self-expression. Table Toys The wonderful world of math is introduced through Lego, puzzles, matching cards and more. Block Play Self-esteem increases as children successfully make decisions about block sizes and shapes and they learn to share and cooperate with others. |
