Responsible park use

Park users are reminded:

Dogs are not permitted on sports fields at any time. However, dogs are welcome in all Township of Langley parks providing they are on a leash. Designated dog off-leash areas can be found at Bertrand Creek Dog Park, the Walnut Grove Off-Leash Park, Noel Booth Community Park, Old Yale Park, Routley Park, and Yorkson Community Park. Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately and dispose of the waste appropriately
The Township’s parks are 100 percent smoke-free. Smoking in all forms – including tobacco, cannabis products or e-cigarettes is prohibited.

Park permit applications

The Township adopted Public Spaces Regulation Bylaw 2018 No. 5298 on September 17, 2018. This bylaw regulates the use of parks to ensure the protection of the natural environment, trees, animals, and park users.

Organizers require a valid park permit when their use of public space will include 100 participants or more. Park permits are also required if users are participating in certain activities or bringing restricted items to a public space.

Activities and items that require a park permit

Setting up temporary or permanent shelters, buildings, or structures
Parachuting
Moving plants or vegetation
Conducting research
Holding an event outside of standard hours (standard hours are typically dawn to dusk)
Commercial activities (e.g. erecting advertising or signage, selling goods or services, including fitness groups and bootcamps)
Fireworks (in compliance with Fire Prevention Bylaw No. 6061)
Liquor (Hosting an event involving alcohol? Consider ordering a free Special Event Permit Kit, courtesy of ICBC, to remind your guests to get home safely)
Motorized toys
Unmanned aerial vehicles (e.g. drones)
Outside or composted organic waste
