Green Homes: Rebates and Financing
Rebates are available for green upgrades that help decrease your home’s energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. The table below gives a high-level overview of the Township of Langley Green Building Rebate Program (GBRP), the CleanBC Better Homes Program (provincial), and the Canada Greener Homes Program (federal).
All rebates and incentives are subject to availability. Confirm availability and/or eligibility with the rebate provider.

Rebates: The Township of Langley Green Building Rebate Program (GBRP) offers rebates to build and renovate greener in the Township. Two rebates are available for renovations: up to $750 for decreasing your home’s energy use, and up to $300 for an energy evaluation. CleanBC Better Homes |
Rebates: Through the provincial Better Homes BC program, up to $6,000 is available to switch from natural gas, propane or oil heating to an electric heat pump. Click on the table below to see this and other energy efficiency rebates. Interest-free Financing: Can’t afford a home retrofit right now? The CleanBC Better Homes Low-Interest Financing Program provides loans of up to $40,000 with a promotional interest rate of 0% for switching from a fossil fuel (oil, propane, natural gas) heating system to an electric heat pump. Canada Greener Homes Initiative |

1A deep home retrofit is an extensive, holistic overhaul of a building’s systems, utilizing best practices with the goal of significantly reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Income Qualified ProgramThe Province of BC has introduced an income qualified rebate program where homeowners may be eligible to receive enhanced rebates that cover 60-95% of home upgrade costs. Please visit the CleanBC Income Qualified Program webpage for more information, including income qualification requirements. Free Energy Saving KitLow- and moderate-income households can apply online for a free energy saving kit from BC Hydro that contains simple, energy-saving products you can install yourself. For owners and renters alike, you can apply for a free kit if the BC Hydro account is in your name. See if you qualify. Free Home Energy Evaluation and UpgradesIncome-qualified households, including renters, can receive free advice, installation of energy-saving products, and upgrades as part of BC Hydro and FortisBC’s Energy Conservation Assistance Program. |
