Interim Policy Regarding Community Amenity Contributions
On June 20, 2025, the Supreme Court of British Columbia decided that the Township’s Community Amenity Contributions Policy No. 07-166 is invalid. See the Council Report for further details.
On July 7, 2025 an Interim Policy Regarding Community Amenity Contributions No. 07-170 was adopted by Council that directs staff to:
- discuss with development applicants the prospect of making amenity contributions to the Township;
- negotiate with development applicants on a case-by-case basis for the provision of community amenities, as part of a Phased Development Agreement; or
- allow amenity contributions either at the initiative of development applicants or as a result of rezoning negotiations between the applicant and the Township.
For full details see the Interim Policy Regarding Community Amenity Contributions.
The interim policy will be in effect until all in-stream development applications, received prior to the adoption of an Amenity Cost Charge Bylaw, have been processed.
