
Development Tree Protection

Schedule I - Tree Protection, of the Township’s Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw, along with the Official Community Plan, promote the retention of significant trees during development.
Key requirements
Developers must hire an ISA Certified Arborist or Registered Landscape Architect early in the process to assess existing trees. Site design must prioritize the retention of suitable trees.

- Tree survey
- Evaluation report
- Tree summary schedule
- Tree management plans
- Tree removal checklist

All development sites must include replacement tree planting to maintain trees as a long-term community asset. For the full tree protection requirements pertaining to development, please refer to Schedule I of the Township’s Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw.
