Haldi House
Overview
The century-old Haldi House in Fort Langley is a two and a half storey, with basement, Edwardian-era foursquare-style residence constructed in 1908. The Township of Langley has identified the building as one of its prominent heritage houses and is committed to its rehabilitation and preservation.
Preservation and restoration of this heritage feature is a key first step in the Fort Langley Public Waterfront Redevelopment.
Project details
The detailed conservation plan includes:
- relocation of the Haldi House to Glover Road while maintaining its current orientation as a key part of the redevelopment of the Fort Langley waterfront and the urban fabric
- preserve and restore all identified original interior elements on the main and upper levels.
- preserve and restore all exterior original elements on all historic facades of the Haldi House
- rehabilitate the existing interior layout of the Haldi House for public, multipurpose uses as per redevelopment goals
