Smith Detention Pond, Storm Sewer and Road Works

Overview

Construction includes a new detention pond at 72 Avenue and 210 Street, a half road at 72B Avenue and 1,700 metres of storm sewer along 72 Avenue and Crush Crescent east of 210 Street.

Updates

October 2025

Construction is nearing substantial completion with landscaping and fencing currently being installed. New storm sewer mains are connected to the detention pond and functioning. The detention pond is fully excavated with the storm sewer headwalls, retaining wall and low flow meandering open channel draining through the pond. The new half road (72B Avenue) between 209A Street and 210 Street, multi-use paths around the pond and 210 Street have also been paved.
