
80 Avenue Widening
Overview
Township of Langley Council has approved funding for improvements to 80 Avenue from 204 Street to 212 Street. The project includes road widening, culvert installation, retaining walls, shared multi-use pathways, a raised landscaped median, extruded bike curbs, streetlighting, and landscaping. The Township is also collaborating with BC Hydro to construct a new underground duct bank within the project limits.
Substantial completion is tentatively scheduled for Spring 2026.
Updates
October 2025
Road widening at Yorkson Creek, including extension of the existing culvert and installation of a new fish-friendly culvert is complete, as is installation of BC Hydro's feeder duct bank between 204 and 208 Street. Centre raised medians are being installed between 204 and 208 Street, including a pedestrian refuge area for a new crosswalk at 207 Street. Installation of BC Hydro's feeder duct bank between 208 Street and 212 Street is upcoming.
Road Closure
A full road closure on 80 Avenue between 204 Street and 206 Street was required in summer 2025 to accommodate culvert installation and road widening works at Yorkson Creek. During the road closure, vehicle and pedestrian traffic was detoured. Find updates on traffic impacts at tol.ca/roads as they occur.
Night Work
Some night work was required at the intersection of 80 Avenue and 208 Street to accommodate underground duct bank installation. During this night work, the traffic signal was deactivated and the intersection was manually controlled by traffic control personnel.
