Township of Langley Mayor Eric Woodward and Councillors joined Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club leaders to celebrate two synthetic turf field replacements that are now complete at Aldergrove Athletic Park. The fields are ready for the approaching fall and winter weather and will provide high quality playing surfaces for soccer and lacrosse, rain or shine.
The upgrades approved by Township Council are providing great facilities for youth to be active in Aldergrove.
“We’re thrilled to see the replacement of the synthetic turf at Aldergrove Athletic Park completed. This investment will provide our community with top-quality, all-weather playing surfaces for years to come. It’s a testament to our commitment to supporting local sports and recreation, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on our community,” said Township Mayor Eric Woodward.
Aldergrove Athletic Park synthetic turf replacements were budgeted for $1.8 million, but were completed $575K under budget. Those savings are being reinvested into new shelters for players and spectators, drainage improvements, and additional paving in pedestrian areas at the park.
