Community and Neighbourhood Plans
A series of Community and Neighbourhood Plans apply to specific areas in the Township of Langley. These plans contain the specific policies about future land uses, amenities, and mobility networks. They also include Development Permit Area standards that guide the form and design of new development.

Reference Plans
A Reference Plan is a non-statutory planning document that provides additional planning information about an area of the Township, where land use change may be contemplated but not provided for under existing community or neighbourhood plan policies.
A Reference Plan does not alter existing land use designations or zoning, but provides a broader policy framework for the consideration of site-specific development applications that may also require amendments to regional plans and policies.
A Reference Plan is to be used in conjunction with other applicable Township plans, policies, and regulations.
It may provide a long-term vision, guiding principles, and policy directions for how an area may develop over time in the absence of more detailed land use policy, and subject to community and regional plan amendments.
