Newcomers
The Township of Langley is taking action to build an inclusive community for all, including immigrants and refugees. We support a number of initiatives that celebrate the diversity of the community, and are working to make local programs and services more accessible for newcomers.

In Langley Township, between 2016 and 2021:
- The number of recent immigrants increased by 46% (recent immigrants are those individuals who obtained a landed immigrant or permanent resident status within the past five years)
- Visible minorities accounted for nearly 90% of the total population growth
Langley Local Immigration Partnership
The Township is a member of the Langley Local Immigration Partnership (LLIP), a multi-sector table that supports collaborative planning and action for newcomers. The Langley LIP is funded by the Government of Canada to develop and implement plans that improve immigrant and refugee settlement and integration.
