Township brand and logo
The Township of Langley’s brand and corporate identity provides credibility and instant recognition of corporate communication materials including the consistent application of a logo that is used for Township-related business only. However, for grants and other official needs, the Township may authorize some organizations to use a statement or the corporate logo to identify the Township’s involvement, sponsorship, or grant provisions for non-Township programs, events or initiatives.
When the Township of Langley provides a grant to an organization, there is a requirement for an ‘acknowledgement of appreciation’ for the Township’s support. Review the information below and select the acknowledgement of appreciation that works best for your promotional tools / materials and placement locations.
Heraldic signature
The Heraldic signature (or coat of arms) or has been given a special place of honour within the corporation. It is applied to communication materials used only by the Mayor and Council for materials of an official nature that have a ceremonial purpose. The heraldic signature, therefore, is never provided to external organizations.
Acknowledgement of appreciation – placement locations
Placement of the acknowledgement of appreciation (in text or logo format) must follow the established guidelines below and should include the following in this order of preference, subject to the availability of these tools and materials in your organization.
- Website - place it on the primary information web page the grant supports. If uncertain, place it on your website homepage. Placement near or in your footer area is standard, however we encourage and appreciate placement higher up your web page.
- Promotional materials and event signs - placement near or in your footer area is standard, however we encourage and appreciate placement higher up your materials.
- Social media posts – include a short acknowledgement of appreciation and feel free to tag us also.
- Other tools and materials – inclusion on other tools and materials is not required but appreciated.
Text-based acknowledgement of appreciation
Based on each tool / material and your placement location for the acknowledgement, text may be your most viable option over a logo image. In this instance, use this text statement below and implement it following the placement location information above. Font size should be 12 point or larger, be clearly legible, and not included with other text.
- Supported by a grant from the Township of Langley.
Logo-based acknowledgement of appreciation
If you require the corporate logo, it may be requested from a variety of available formats to meet your specific needs. A horizontal and vertical version of the Township logo are available with the horizontal version being the preferred-use option for acknowledgement whenever possible.
In this instance, you must also use part of the text-based acknowledgement of appreciation with the logo. Combining the text with the logo clearly indicates the reason why the Township logo appears on your tools / materials (grant provision). Use one of these two options below:
