Building Records
There will be a 2.2% charge on payments made by credit card as per the Credit Card Payment Service Fee Bylaw No. 5853.
Telephone requests are not accepted for building record searches. To obtain building records, please use our Online Building Records Search.
The following items can be obtained through this service with an associated fee:

Copy of a survey certificate

Copy of building permit(s)

Date of the Accepted Final Inspection

Copy of a site plan (may include well and septic locations if applicable)

Location of a septic field

Copies of the drawings (to confirm square footage of the building). Drawings can only be released to the registered owner or owner authorized applicant (with authorization). If the owner is a company, a director search will be required prior to processing your request.
Our goal is to deliver any information found within 7 business days. Copies of documentation will be released once any necessary fees are paid. Payment can be submitted by VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. Office hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding all statutory holidays).
When it is determined research will exceed 15 minutes of time, a fee for research over 15 minutes will be applied (per hour). Additional authorization may be required from the strata/management company for strata properties.
Note: If additional documentation is required (e.g., a Director’s Search, additional authorization or payment for research/fees beyond the standard 15 minutes), your file will remain open for 15 business days. If no documentation is received within that period, the record search request will be cancelled, and you will need to submit a new request.
Requests for copies of all other information must be submitted through a Freedom of Information request. Requests for a File Research letter must be submitted to the Permit, Licence and Inspection Services Department along with payment.
