- Diploma of Technology in Civil Engineering (or related field) or an experienced professional in a municipal infrastructure construction and maintenance field
- Minimum three years of direct Engineering experience in a municipal government, consulting company, or infrastructure contracting company; or, equivalent combination

- Engineering/Building Technologist Diploma or equivalent training and experience in the industry
- Minimum five years of direct Engineering experience in a municipal government or consulting company; or, equivalent combination

Superintendent in Parks Operations:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma and Trades Qualifications in a related field or equivalent training and experience in the industry
- Minimum five years of direct Parks experience in a municipal government or organization providing Parks and Cemetery/Parks and Open Spaces management and maintenance services; or, equivalent combination

- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technologist or equivalent
- Minimum five years of direct Engineering experience in a municipal government or consulting company; or, equivalent combination
