Willowbrook Community Planning Team

On July 25, 2022, Township of Langley Council appointed an 11-member community planning team (CPT), to represent the Willowbrook community. The CPT will assist staff in the preparation of the community plan and will serve as a ‘sounding-board’ throughout the project.

The CPT will exist for the length of the planning process and will form part of the many public engagement opportunities that will take place over the length of the community planning project. Council endorsed the Willowbrook community planning team terms of reference on June 13, 2022.

Update: September 15, 2022

Phase 1 engagement has been underway with in-person pop-up events at the Aldergrove Canada Day celebration, Langley community farmer’s market, and Willowbrook Shopping Centre. A survey was also completed receiving over 450 responses.

Inaugural CPT meeting

The inaugural meeting of the CPT took place on September 19, 2022 at the Langley Airport presentation room (5385 216 Street). A meeting agenda was provided which included an outline of the planning project including upcoming communication and engagement activities. There were two presentations with presentation #1 outlining the goals and expectations of a community planning process and presentation #2 providing an overview of the communication and engagement process. A summary of the meeting notes has been prepared.

For future reference, the public is welcome to attend the CPT meetings as observers but will not have an opportunity to participate in the discussion.
