200 Street 2040 Receives Green Light

Township of Langley Council has green-lighted funding of $150,000 and endorsed the Terms of Reference (ToR) for 200 Street 2040 - a vision and guiding document for 200th Street as a frequent transit corridor.
The initial draft ToR was revised to expand the planning area to 800 m on both sides of 200 Street, consistent with the 800 m catchment area for Frequent Transit Station/Exchange Area, considering the potential for locating future rapid transit stations at or near 72 Avenue, 80 Avenue, and 86 Avenue for both Light Rapid Transit (LRT) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
200 Street 2040 represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create transit-orientated development along a corridor that will see rapid transit in the future. The work outlined in the ToR is just the beginning of what will be an exhaustive process that creates something unique and innovative for the Township.
