Responsible Program

The Township strives to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Public areas in Township facilities have recycling bins for food scraps, paper, and containers. To reduce landfill waste, corporate recycling programs exist for batteries, metal, light bulbs, Styrofoam, soft plastics and electronics.

We also:

• print on recycled paper
• use compostable plates and cutlery for meetings/events
• provide free recycling stations for public and Township events

Zero Waste Program at Langley Events Centre

The Langley Events Centre (LEC) is the first mid-sized arena in the region to implement a wide-scale recycling and composting program.

Some highlights:

• Zero waste stations throughout the facility 
• Compostable cutlery and packaging, and bulk purchase condiments 
• The Township of Langley is an official partner of the Green Sports Alliance
