Langley Demonstration Garden
Located within the Derek Doubleday Arboretum, the Demonstration Garden showcases sustainable gardening practices, including backyard composting. Environmental educational workshops are available for adults and children alike, along with a series of fun and interactive community events.
Garden Smart
Cosmetic pesticides can be harmful to humans, wildlife and insects, and can leach into our waterways. The Garden Smart program teaches residents practical ways to reduce or eliminate the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers for lawns and gardens.
Rain gardens
Rain gardens are an attractive and natural way to manage rainwater runoff and improve water quality in developed neighbourhoods. In fact, they allow about 30% more water to soak into the ground than a regular lawn. Learn how to maintain or expand a rain garden on your property.
