Cleared for Celebration - Langley Airport Turns 58

May 15 marks 58 years since the Township of Langley took over the Langley Regional Airport (YNJ) from the Federal Department of Transport.
Since its acquisition in 1967, YNJ has evolved into a vital hub for general aviation, helicopter operations, and essential services. For nearly six decades, YNJ has played a crucial role in connecting our region, supporting local businesses, facilitating emergency response, and fostering a vibrant aviation community.
This 58th anniversary is a testament to the foresight of those who secured this valuable asset for our community and to the continued dedication of everyone who contributes to its success. From our pilots and aviation businesses to our dedicated airport staff, and supportive community members, your passion and commitment are the bedrock of YNJ's enduring legacy.
As we celebrate this remarkable journey, we also look forward with excitement to the future of YNJ. We remain committed to evolving with the aviation trends but also paying homage to the historical value the airport has provided to the community while ensuring it continues to serve as a critical piece of infrastructure, an economic driver, and a source of pride for the Township of Langley and the broader region for many years to come.
