Community Police Office opens in North Langley

Public safety, crime prevention and reduction, and community outreach are very important to the citizens of Langley, and to support that the Langley RCMP and the Township of Langley are pleased to announce that a Community Police Office (CPO) has opened in North Langley.
The Langley RCMP is dedicated to protecting and serving the citizens of Langley through the prevention and reduction of crime, in partnership with the Township community. The North Langley CPO will provide valuable support and information on public safety, crime prevention and reduction, and other topics in this fast-growing area of the Township. Some of the services offered at the CPO include criminal record checks, document verification, non-emergency complaints, online reporting and more.
“We’re pleased to open this CPO and make more of our services for the public available to them in their home community,” said Superintendent Adrian Marsden, Officer in Charge, Langley Detachment. “Our goal going forward is to continue our positive connections within our community by opening more CPOs in other parts of the Township.”
Each CPO is unique. Not all CPOs have uniformed police members on site however they are staffed by dedicated and trained city employees and volunteers. They are housed in different types of facilities, have various hours of operation and deliver a variety of programs to meet the needs of the local neighbourhoods they serve. The CPO is frequently the hub for community-based crime prevention programs and the volunteers who deliver them.
“This CPO is one more way the RCMP is reaching out and engaging with community members to provide information, education and support services, and we will continue to collaborate with the RCMP on other police priorities and initiatives to serve and protect our citizens,” said Township Mayor Eric Woodward.
The North Langley CPO is located at B140 20161 86th Ave. Its present hours of operation are Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm (closed statutory holidays).
If you are interested in volunteering with the Langley RCMP, including at a CPO, we encourage you to visit our website, visit a CPO, or call one of our offices.
