Last updated: Friday August 9, 3:15pm
The BC River Forecast Centre has ended the High Streamflow Advisory for the Fraser River downstream of Hope. The advisory was in place due to a landslide dam on the Chilcotin River near Farwell Canyon. The dam breach started at approximately 9am Monday August 5, and has made its way from Hope to the mouth of the Fraser (Richmond).
There are no longer any Township amenity or trail closures. However, Township residents are advised that activities on or near the Fraser River may continue to pose a risk due to debris in the river. Increased turbidity and debris can be expected along the Fraser River over the coming days.
