Don't Let Mosquitoes Take a Bite Out of Your Summer

Mosquitoes can be a real nuisance. Luckily, there are things we can all do to take the bite out of mosquito season.
Reduce mosquito breeding areas around your home
It is important to keep residential or business property free of standing and stagnant water. This helps reduce the number of mosquitoes in your neighbourhood as most mosquitoes fly about one-to-three kilometres from their breeding site.
Follow these simple practices to eliminate mosquito breeding sites on your property and remember the four Ds:
- Drain your property of unwanted standing water.
- Dusk/dawn are the times of day when you should take extra care to protect yourself from their bite.
- Dress appropriately. Wear light-coloured and loose-fitting clothing with long sleeves to ward off the pests.
- Defend yourself against mosquito bites by using repellent wisely. Be sure to read the labels first.
