Family Day Activities in the Township

Family Day 2021 is on Monday, February 15. Celebrate Family Day here in the Township with one or more of these free or low-cost, fun activities. This year, we encourage families to stay local, connect virtually with family outside of your immediate household, and follow all public health orders if you do go out.
- Go for a walk in nature
Enjoy one or more of the Township’s 84 parks and many kilometres of trails. View the parks and amenities here.
- Play tennis or pickleball
Get active and outdoors this weekend! Search for the locations on this handy park amenity search tool. - Take a swim
While Township pools are closed on Family Day they are open over the weekend (February 13 and 14) and will be offering free swim sessions for Township of Langley residents through a government grant. Pre-booking is required 24 hours prior to these sessions, and space is limited. Sign up online. - Virtually tour an exhibit at the museum
Take a virtual tour of the Langley Centennial Museum and its exhibits. Visit their website to learn more. - Go bird watching
From eagles to finches, you can find them all, and take great photographs in our many parks and walking trails. Find one in your community here. - Visit a playground with the kids
Playgrounds are open and are a fun, free activity for families with young children. Make a day of it and enjoy a picnic at the park too! Check out all playground locations and find the one closest to you. - Play with your family dog
It’s said that dogs are our best friends so why not hang out with your dog more often. Visit one of the Township’s dog parks and have a fun time in the fresh air. - Take an onsite museum tour
While the Langley Centennial Museum is closed on Family Day you can take a safe onsite tour during the week. Visit their website to learn more. - Enjoy live interactive learning events
Visit the Fraser Valley Regional Library website to see all the offerings from hobbies and crafts to writing and music. - Develop a family safety plan
A quiet day off at home can be a great time to chat with your family about fire safety tips and planning, and also offer reminders about how to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
