Flags at half-mast for National Day of Mourning

On Monday, April 28, all Canadian, BC and municipal flags at Township facilities and parks will remain at half-mast, in recognition and respect for the National Day of Mourning.
Marked annually across Canada on April 28, the National Day of Mourning is a day to remember and honour the lives lost or injured from workplace tragedies.
Members of Township Council and staff attended ceremonies at the Civic Facility and Operations Centre today and observed a moment of silence for the victims and their families.
We encourage everyone to join us in renewing our commitment to creating safer workplaces and ensuring that every worker returns home safely to their loved ones.
